About the Job

As a key member of our career services team, you will coach and advise students to achieve their career goals at Center for Employment Training (CET). This role involves developing partnerships with local businesses to identify job opportunities and promote CET's vision, values, and mission. You will also provide administrative support as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Center Director to create an effective job development plan that meets student needs.
  • Met with individual students to develop personalized job placement game plans and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Review student progress reports, attendance records, and competency scores to assess their personal strengths and abilities.
  • Attend Unit Team meetings to monitor student progress and discuss barriers to employment.
  • Meet with instructors to assess student competency levels based on employer expectations.
  • Develop lesson plans and materials to accommodate learning challenges.
  • Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to students.
  • Engage students in discussions about their employment goals.
  • Instruct students on creating professional resumes and cover letters.
  • Assist students in applying for jobs and conduct mock interviews.
  • Coordinate marketing and outreach activities with community agencies and employers.
Requirements
  • Able to develop effective job coaching techniques to motivate students.
  • Serve as an advocate for students' needs.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
  • Possess strong customer service orientation.
  • Exhibit sensitivity to a multicultural student population.
  • Knowledge of business, local market industries, and community resources.
  • Ability to interface professionally with various stakeholders.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. CET offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
