About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team at US Foods, Inc. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate selection and preparation of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and prepare customer orders: Safely and accurately select customer orders, build and wrap pallets to meet weekly standards for productivity and accuracy.
  • Operate equipment: Perform pre-shift equipment checks and safely operate an electric pallet jack.
  • Move products: Carefully move products from racks to pallets directed by order selecting software and equipment.
  • Validate orders: Validate that correct product has been selected and is damage free.
  • Deliver products: Efficiently deliver products to the correct dock area and shrink wrap palletized orders.
  • Teamwork: Team up to clear aisles of debris, stack empty pallets from slots in the aisle, and return pallet jacks to the charging area.

Physical Requirements:

  • Temperature tolerance: Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment ranging from -5 degrees to over 100 degrees.
  • Lifting and carrying: Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively; moving 1,000+ cases of product during each shift.

Requirements:

  • Communication: Must be able to read and communicate in the English language, such as to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, read labels, and enter information on reports if needed.
  • Availability: Able to work 8+ hour night shifts, typically Sunday – Thursday. At times, weekends and holidays may be required.
  • Experience: Recent experience (within past 6 months) in high endurance or highly physical activity or role preferred, e.g., lifting/transferring patients, sports/fitness, farming, construction work, etc.
  • Skills: Experience selecting large-scale orders in a warehouse or distribution center environment preferred. Experience operating motorized pallet jack or similar equipment preferred.
