Senior Systems Engineer for Agile IT Acquisition

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced systems engineer with expertise in agile IT acquisition to support our EPASS GB contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applying agile system engineering principles to the acquisition process and will be able to identify, describe, and apply emerging IT acquisition strategies, best practices, and quality management in support of acquisition planning, information assurance/cybersecurity, test and evaluation processes, verification and validation processes, and/or fielding and sustaining of IT/software systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of agile system engineering to the acquisition process to identify, describe, and apply emerging IT acquisition strategies, best practices, IT-related performance measures and quality management in support of acquisition planning, information assurance/cybersecurity, test and evaluation processes, verification and validation processes, and/or, fielding and sustaining of IT/software systems;
• Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications;
• Prepare technical documentation which defines, specifies, and recommends system/subsystem characteristics;
• Prepare management reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering principles;
• Perform validation of software systems including development of analyses/evaluation criteria and procedures, analyses/evaluation of results, and related recommendations;
• Provide Agile and Digital system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives including, but not limited to, acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight;
• Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes;
• Perform all (system) engineering according to applicable DOD, AF, AFMC directives, instructions, and manuals, to include, but not be limited to, AFI 63-101, AFMAN 63-144, AFMCI 63-1202, AFMAN 63-128, AF/ 99-103 - and their updates, successors (as happens over time).

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen;
• Must have an active Secret clearance and be able to maintain clearance at required level;
• Possesses the advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered an expert in their technical/professional field, possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is between $105,000 and $145,000 per year, depending on experience.
