Responsibilities

As a Radiology Technologist, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Producing high-quality x-ray images of specified body areas under physician or radiologist direction
  • Positioning and instructing patients regarding x-ray procedures
  • Performing x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units
  • Processing films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures
  • Preparing or cleaning patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies, and wiping off tables and equipment
  • Protecting patients from undue exposure to radiation by utilizing lead shields and various safety factors
  • Maintaining patient information by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files
  • Maintaining imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, documenting results, and contacting service personnel and supervision of malfunctioning equipment


Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess:
  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF AN APPROVED RADIOLOGICAL TRAINING PROGRAM AND THE ABILITY TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRY BY THE AMERICAN REGISTRY OF RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGISTS (ARRT)
  • A Current license/certification in the state of practice
  • Possession of a current Basic Life Support Certification, or obtain certification within one month of employment
  • At least one year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department (preferred)
