Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Lead Wind Technician to oversee operations at our wind farm. This full-time, permanent role is essential to our organization, providing opportunities for professional growth and advancement. As the highest level of technician, you will be responsible for leading teams, managing complex tasks, and offering guidance in specialized technical areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct technician crews to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
• Engage with clients as instructed by management.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members.
• Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on substation equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve warranty-related issues.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Be available for scheduled work and on-call duties as required.
• Support management with vendor contracts and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols.
• Climb turbine heights exceeding 300 feet regularly.
• Identify and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Perform energy isolation following Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.
• Execute transformer switching in line with safety protocols.
• Carry out both minor and major repairs on wind turbines.
• Engage in preventative maintenance and performance assessments.
• Ensure the safe and efficient upkeep of all turbine components.
• Document and manage EH&S records and necessary paperwork using Maximo.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• External candidates must have at least 6 years of relevant experience and pass required certifications.
• Internal candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience with Deriva Energy and completed necessary certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or certification in Wind/Renewable Energy.
• Experience with Vestas turbines and various wind turbine technologies.
• Knowledge of high voltage and substation maintenance.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing tools.
• Understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and crane operations.
• Proficiency in Maximo and Microsoft Office Suite.
• CPR and AED certification.
• TSL tower climber and rescue training.
• Forklift certification.

Working Conditions:

• Valid Driver's License is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel to various project sites.
• Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards.
• Ability to work in diverse weather conditions.
• Physical capability to climb turbine towers and lift heavy objects.
• Completion of technical training programs is required.
• Successful candidates must pass background checks and drug tests.
• Weight restriction of 265 pounds is enforced for safety reasons.
