Position Overview: The Food Runner plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our esteemed members and guests. This position involves anticipating needs and serving food and beverages with professionalism and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist servers by presenting menus, addressing inquiries, and making recommendations regarding food and beverage options.
- Prepare and organize baskets with necessary condiments and sides prior to service.
- Ensure accuracy of all kitchen orders, confirming they are complete and visually appealing before serving.
- Address members and guests by name to enhance their experience.
- Proactively anticipate the needs of members and guests.
- Monitor and respond to additional requests from members and guests, ensuring service completion.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and café areas at all times.
- Support servers in keeping service areas tidy and orderly.
- Collect and manage baskets throughout the shift.
- Adhere to a 'full hands out, full hands in' approach.
- Track kitchen times and communicate with servers and management.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including alcoholic beverages, specials, and unavailable items.
- Complete daily and weekly checklists of responsibilities and monitor inventory supplies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required unless currently enrolled.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year experience in a server or server assistant role within an upscale restaurant, hotel/resort, or private club.
- Preferred: Certification in liquor, wine, and food service, including Alcohol Awareness Certification.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Professional appearance is essential.
- Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Compliance with responsible alcohol service standards.
- Physical capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50lbs multiple times during a shift.
- Ability to climb, lift, reach, bend, and stoop as required.
- Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills with guests, co-workers, and management.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, meeting the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction.
