Quantitative Researcher Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Researcher to join our team at Two Sigma Investments, LP in New York, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop predictive financial modeling systems using advanced quantitative modeling and statistical analysis skills.
  • Apply pattern recognition and quantitative/statistical analysis techniques, including regression and time-series methods, to formulate and engineer sophisticated quantitative/stat-based financial modeling systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and fine-tune statistical and quantitative models in both theoretical and real-world systems.
  • Process and analyze large economic and financial datasets to identify trends and insights.
  • Develop and evaluate economic hypotheses using econometric methods and stay up-to-date with the latest academic literature in finance and economics.
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Finance, Economics, or related field, plus 5 years of experience in quantitative research and computational programming, or Ph.D. or equivalent in Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Proven experience in tackling in-depth quantitative research projects and developing and fine-tuning statistical and quantitative models.
  • Experience with data analysis programming environments, such as R, Matlab, Math, or Python, and scripting languages, such as Unix or Perl.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive research projects simultaneously and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
