Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Laboratory Support Activities

Oversee the coordination of all support area needs for the laboratory, ensuring seamless operations and efficient delivery of services.

Lead by Example

Model and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, serving as a resource and mentor to support staff, management, and healthcare teams.

Establish Priorities and Workflows

Develop and implement service priorities, work routines, and workflow patterns to optimize laboratory operations and ensure prompt and efficient delivery of services.

Communicate Effectively

Collaborate and communicate with support staff, management, healthcare teams, and other stakeholders to facilitate continuity and coordination of services.

Monitor Quality and Performance

Facilitate quality monitoring activities of support staff, ensuring adherence to laboratory protocols and standards.

Schedule and Coordinate

Coordinate all scheduling, including payroll editing, to ensure accurate and efficient operations.

Provide Technical Support

Handle telephone inquiries, providing technical explanations and interpretations as needed, and serve as a resource for specimen collection and handling questions, forensic drug testing, point-of-care testing, and other laboratory specialties.

Prepare Specimens for Testing

Prepare specimens for reference laboratory testing according to laboratory protocol and federal shipping guidelines, ensuring specimen integrity, appropriateness, and accuracy.

Qualifications
  • Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.

Experience

Three years of relevant experience in laboratory support services, customer service, or a related field required.

Certifications

Clinical Lab Assistant (CLA) - ASCP American Society for Clinical Pathology preferred; Medical Lab Assistant (MLA) - ASCP American Society for Clinical Pathology preferred; Phlebotomy Technician - NHA National Health career Association preferred.
