Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Enforcement: Patrol designated areas to prevent and detect crime, and enforce laws and regulations.
  • Investigations: Conduct investigations into crimes and incidents, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with the community, provide education and outreach, and respond to citizen requests for assistance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate police equipment, including firearms, vehicles, and communication devices.
  • Collaboration: Work with other law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and community organizations to achieve public safety goals.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in law enforcement or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Prior law enforcement experience preferred, but not required.
  • Certifications: Must be certified as a Peace Officer by the Wyoming Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to public safety.
