Position Summary

Under the supervision of a physician, the Radiologic Technologist conducts radiographic imaging procedures. This role involves evaluating patients, assisting the physician with fluoroscopic examinations, preparing images for analysis, and maintaining patient and departmental documentation, as well as managing supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate patients and assist the physician in conducting fluoroscopic procedures, ensuring images are prepared for interpretation while maintaining accurate patient and departmental records.
  2. Confirm physician orders prior to performing imaging procedures.
  3. Prepare the x-ray machine by following established protocols, checking for any issues, and reporting malfunctions to the supervisor.
  4. Apply appropriate exposure settings to perform radiographic examinations in accordance with established guidelines.
  5. Process and manage radiographic images effectively.
  6. Uphold patient confidentiality by ensuring the x-ray room remains closed except when moving patients.
  7. Implement and maintain a systematic workflow program.
  8. Establish and uphold a maintenance schedule for system components, ensuring cleanliness and serviceability.
  9. Address system errors promptly and respond to user inquiries and service requests efficiently.
  10. Comprehend and adhere to National Patient Safety Goals.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Completion of an accredited Imaging/Radiology program is required.
  • Possession of an active Florida Radiology Technician/Technologist License is essential.
  • ARRT Certification is a prerequisite.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers is necessary.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and consultants in various settings, as well as work independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, complex environment are crucial.
