Party Chief

Essel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Party Chief to join our Survey Operations team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating survey instruments, performing surveys as directed by the Field Survey Manager, and ensuring compliance with safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate survey instruments, including GPS R-12, Robotic S-7, and Data Collector TSC3, to perform surveys as directed by the Field Survey Manager.
• Ensure knowledge and adherence to safety requirements, including those related to weather conditions.
• Demonstrate expertise in lot, area, and intersection computations.
• Facilitate field work for various standard types of surveys, including those requiring positional information.
• Enter field data and produce accurate positional information using hand-held calculators or micro-computer software.
• Participate in Survey Department training and development programs.
• Provide accurate account of time spent on projects, including descriptions for each time entry.
• Plan daily activities to meet productivity goals set by Project Managers, considering multiple projects and priorities.
• Work independently, making technical and supervisory decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority.
• Prepare daily time sheets, data logs, expense reports, and field change orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Field Survey Manager.

Requirements:

• 3 years of relevant field experience.
• Hard worker, driven, and able to adapt to various weather conditions.
