Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nurse Assistant to join our team at Ingraham Manor, a skilled nursing facility in Bristol, CT. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct clinical care services to our clients under the direction of our Director/Charge Nurse.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the clinical care of clients in support of the nursing function
  • Conduct vitals on all clients monthly and as needed, accurately collecting readings and reporting any abnormalities to the Charge Nurse immediately
  • Effectively measure weight and height of residents as needed, collect urine and/or stool specimens as required, and change ostomy bags as needed
  • Conduct admission vitals, weights, and photos, and timely and accurately document all pertinent information regarding clients, consistent with facility policy
  • Administer personal hygiene to clients, including bathing, shampoos, shaving, cleaning and trimming nails, mouth care, and denture care
  • Assist clients with dressing and undressing in an appropriate time frame, render incontinent care as required, and toilet clients in accordance with facility policies and as needed
  • Identify needs for assistive devices in the feeding of clients, safely serve dietary trays in a timely manner to maintain appropriate temperature of all foods, and transport clients as required
  • Ensure resident's rights are maintained in the course of the delivery of care, always wear employee identification badge consistent with facility policy, and identify self and purpose and intentions to the client and any family present
  • Ensure there is privacy for the client during times when delivering care, respect the private space of a client, and maintain client confidentiality
  • Exhibit teamwork mindset in the daily activities of the job, promote a sense of unity and teamwork in own work area and throughout the facility, and support all members of the IADC team
  • Act as a role model by promoting cooperation between departments, able to communicate effectively to all team members, and always demonstrate pride in the excellence of Ingraham Adult Day Center
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or GED or enrolled in high school, Graduate of CNA long-term care certified training program
  • Current CT CNA registration, General orientation at time of hire, Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually, and other programs as mandated by Ingraham Manor and Ingraham Adult Day Center
  • Must demonstrate patience and kindness toward clients and families, must enjoy working with geriatric population, and must possess good observation and communication skills
  • Must be able to perform all aspects of nursing care, must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs, and must be able to endure prolonged periods of extended walking, standing, and stooping
