This role is responsible for leading the operations of the grooming salon, driving results to grow the business, and overseeing daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the grooming industry, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the grooming salon, including scheduling, safety checklists, and salon audits.
- Assist in hiring and onboarding new groomers and groom technicians, ensuring timely completion of training requirements and evaluating employee grooming skills.
- Partner with the store manager to drive salon growth, including calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, and attending community events.
- Lead the salon team by driving professional development, coaching for improvement, and reviewing performance key metrics.
- Provide professional grooming services for dogs, using knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in the grooming industry, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and customers.
- Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate store equipment.
The working environment is favorable, with moderate noise levels. Team members will be exposed to wet conditions, sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste. The ability to move and transfer live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds is essential.
Physical RequirementsThis position is non-sedentary, requiring the ability to move and transfer live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Team members must be able to stand and maintain a stationary position for up to 8 hours while grooming animals, and frequently move for 4-8 hours per day around the salon to groom animals, clean, and maintain the salon.
