Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiologic technology and ultrasound scanning techniques, with the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all patient exams with the highest degree of skill and utilize all Ultrasound equipment
  • Produce expected levels of production at reasonable speeds and on schedule
  • Properly secure stretchers for patient safety and attend to the physical safety of patients and staff
  • Use a double identifier and patient ID bracelet to confirm patient identity
  • Assure all areas are clean and orderly and supplies are maintained for all exams and procedures
  • Provide all services to patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Cooperate and promote team efforts with co-workers and members of the hospital staff
  • Utilize departmental and hospital information systems as necessary for patient care
  • Exercise initiative and actively participate in the reception area, film library, and transport functions
  • Improve performance through education and maintain required continuing education credits
Requirements
  • Equal to the completion of a two-year AMA approved Radiologic Technology program and one year of clinical training in Ultrasound scanning techniques in a JCAHO facility
  • BLS certified
  • 5+ years experience with abdominal, obstetric, and vascular ultrasound
