About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiologist to provide high-quality patient care, conduct research, and participate in educational activities at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide cardiology care for inpatients and outpatients at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION.
  • Perform full general cardiology examinations on established or newly consulted patients.
  • Admit and manage patients admitted to the cardiology service.
  • Participate in rotating coverage of the inpatient cardiology service.
  • Participate in after hours and weekend call responsibilities with other cardiology physicians in rotation.
  • Collaborate with APP's and physician colleagues with clear communication and documentation.
  • Interview, examine, select diagnostic testing appropriately, and interpret/collate results to coordinate patient care.
  • Communicate and document with clarity to patients and medical personnel to coordinate patient care.
  • Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff.
  • Work with Trainees (Medical Students, Resident, Fellows, and Nurse practitioners) to further education mission of the division.
Requirements:
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience:
  • Board Certified in cardiology.
  • 2-3 years post-fellowship cardiology experience.
