MRI Technologist

Job Summary:

This MRI Technologist position is available in our Pawtucket location, working under the general supervision of the Lead MRI Technologist and according to established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing and ensuring appropriate quality control, providing requested films of high diagnostic quality based on the specifics of each case, interacting effectively and professionally with patients, referring physicians and their staffs, and fellow employees while maintaining the best possible patient flow and throughput at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate all types of MR related equipment, properly position patients, and handle patient films and files.
• Determine means of providing requested studies based on the specifics of each case.
• Interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress, referring physicians and staff, the radiologist, fellow employees, supplier and service representatives, and any others they come into contact with during the business day.
• Compile and interpret data.
• Provide proper patient care.
• Perform exams as outlined by governing bodies and RIMI protocol.
• Bilingual is preferred, but not required.

Requirements:

• ARRT registered; MR Certification.
• IV experience required.

Physical Demands:

• Walks and stands intermittently throughout the day.
• Lifts and positions patients and supplies up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to move patients from scanner table and transport patients in wheelchairs and/or stretchers.
• Ability to crouch, reach, and lift to allow appropriate manipulation positioning and placement of ancillary equipment.
• Exposure to high magnetic fields and cannot have any physical condition that would be aggravated by magnetic fields, acoustic noise, and occasional RF exposure.
