Position Overview

This role is crucial for the operations of our outpatient clinic, focusing on providing care to individuals with severe mental health challenges.

Role Summary: This is a full-time supervisory position within a human services environment. The selected candidate will oversee various care and support services for clients, working closely with the Executive Directors, Medical Director, and Clinical Director.

Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to this role, with additional tasks assigned as necessary:

  • Collaborate with direct care personnel to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Assist in crafting and executing personalized care plans for clients.
  • Coordinate medical services provided both internally and externally.
  • Organize educational initiatives for staff and clients regarding health and wellness.
  • Guide residents in developing Adult Daily Living Skills (ADLs) and coping mechanisms.
  • Arrange transportation for clients to medical and dental appointments.
  • Document medical appointments and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure timely completion of annual psychiatric evaluations.
  • Administer injections and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Prepare and follow up on coordinated services, including medication management.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Conduct assessments of clients' physical and mental health status.
  • Document services and progress notes accurately.
  • Engage in crisis intervention and problem-solving with clients.
  • Maintain professional boundaries between staff and clients.
  • Report maintenance issues and concerns to management promptly.
  • Understand and implement an Integrated Resident Care Plan as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  1. Facilitate a cohesive and supportive treatment environment.
  2. Assist in the admission process, including necessary documentation for new clients.
  3. Coordinate with all stakeholders involved in client care, including family and treatment teams.
  4. Possess knowledge of psychotropic medications and their implications.
  5. Monitor clients and provide educational resources related to various health conditions.
  • Manage the following tasks effectively:
  1. Schedule medical appointments with the Medical Director and external providers.
  2. Follow up on appointments and communicate results to the Medical Director.
  3. Identify clients needing regular vital sign monitoring.
  4. Coordinate lab services and ensure client attendance.
  5. Review meal plans to align with nutritional guidelines.
  6. Suggest cost-effective purchasing options.
  • Provide support to other departments as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Duties: Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs.

Directly oversee the Nursing Administrative Assistant and provide training that includes:

  1. Scheduling and planning activities for residents.
  2. Setting performance goals and deadlines aligned with the organization's vision.
  3. Organizing workflow and clarifying employee responsibilities.
  4. Monitoring productivity and offering constructive feedback.
  5. Addressing complaints and resolving issues as they arise.
  6. Communicating information between management and staff.
  7. Coordinating client medical services and transportation logistics.
  8. Assisting with administrative tasks such as recordkeeping and maintaining medical files.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mental health services.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in basic computer operations, with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid and Pro-ACT certification within the initial employment period.
  • Licensed as a Vocational Nurse or Psychiatric Technician by state authorities.
