MRI Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MRI Technologist to provide high-quality imaging services to patients. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the diagnostic process, working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to capture accurate and detailed images that aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform MRI scans on patients according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for MRI procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Operate MRI equipment to capture diagnostic images, adjusting settings as necessary to ensure optimal image quality.
- Monitor patients during scans to detect and address any discomfort, complications, or adverse reactions.
- Review and verify the quality of images, ensuring they meet the diagnostic needs and standards before submitting them to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Educate patients about the MRI procedure, answering any questions and addressing concerns to alleviate anxiety or discomfort.
- Obtain patient history and confirm the absence of contraindications, such as metal implants, prior to scanning.
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients, particularly those who may be anxious or claustrophobic.
- Ensure the MRI equipment is well-maintained, properly calibrated, and ready for use, performing basic troubleshooting and reporting issues as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the screening of patients for contraindications and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all infection control procedures.
- Accurately complete and maintain patient records, including scan documentation and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Coordinate with radiologists, referring physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure timely and effective imaging services.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with advancements in MRI technology and best practices.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid certification as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist (ARRT-MR or equivalent).
- Previous experience operating MRI equipment and working in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Basic computer and internet literacy.
