Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate patient admission processes and collaborate with the RN to implement educational and care strategies for patients and their families.
  • Adhere to all regulatory standards and hospital policies while performing nursing duties.
  • Prioritize and execute nursing care tasks effectively.
  • Follow the nursing care plan and medical orders accurately, under the supervision of an RN.
  • Monitor and document patient responses and nursing interventions in a clear and timely manner.
  • Identify and report any changes in patient conditions to the RN Team Leader.
  • Engage in unit-specific quality assurance initiatives and participate in patient care discussions as needed.
  • Implement infection control measures and work with the infection control nurse to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Assist in training new staff or students on unit protocols.
  • Administer IV therapy and parenteral fluids according to established protocols.
  • Perform advanced patient care treatments as permitted by hospital guidelines.
  • Comply with safety standards and complete annual educational requirements, striving for continuous improvement in quality initiatives.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: No specific educational requirements; must meet the standards for licensure as mandated by the relevant authority.

Experience: No prior experience as an LPN/LVN is necessary.

Licensure: Must hold a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) issued by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
