Xcel Energy is seeking a Supply Chain Planner or an Associate Buyer to join our team in Henderson, CO.

Position Overview

This role involves collaborating with business unit partners during the creation of work orders and managing the procurement and fulfillment of materials and services. The successful candidate will develop and implement procurement strategies aimed at achieving cost efficiency, timely delivery, and quality standards. Responsibilities include inventory management, scheduling coordination, supplier oversight, and driving process enhancements. The role also entails resolving issues related to customer material gathering, asset sales, and disposal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management: Demonstrates a strong understanding of supply chain management processes, overseeing everything from work order creation to processing within ERP systems.

Business Partner Engagement: Collaborates with business unit planning teams to ensure visibility of demand from work orders and communicates sourcing strategies. Leads cross-functional teams for specific projects and ensures that business units are aware of risk management strategies for materials and services.

Materials and Services Coordination: Ensures that the fulfillment of material and service requirements is met through effective supply chain processes. Understands the flow of demand to inventory and executes purchase orders accurately and promptly.

Sourcing Strategy Development: Works with sourcing teams to determine appropriate sourcing strategies and ensures compliance with best practices and policies. Manages materials for significant construction and deconstruction projects, including the appraisal and sale of equipment.

Bidding and Award Management: Oversees the preparation of RFX bid packages for regional category purchases and small projects, leading the evaluation and selection of suppliers. Identifies opportunities for cost savings and develops master agreements with key suppliers.

Contract Management: Collaborates with business units on contract administration and supplier performance tracking. Represents company interests during supplier negotiations and addresses any issues that arise.

Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivates relationships with suppliers and provides timely responses to inquiries. Utilizes reporting tools to monitor supplier performance and works with category managers to enhance supplier relationships.

Minimum Qualifications for Associate Buyer:

A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Desire to pursue Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification.

Strong problem-solving, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills.

Willingness to travel locally up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications for Associate Buyer:

At least one year of experience in supply chain or a related field.

Experience in utility operations, finance, or business administration.

Basic knowledge of contracts, negotiation, and project management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Minimum Qualifications for Planner Buyer:

A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

At least three years of experience in purchasing, logistics, or related supply chain roles.

Two years of relevant experience may be considered if it includes demonstrated skills in contract management, project management, and supplier relationship management.

Desire to pursue Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent certification.

Willingness to travel locally up to 10%.

Compensation:

Salary Range for Associate Buyer: $47,600 - $66,666

Salary Range for Planner Buyer: $54,799 - $77,800
