Senior Scientist

Restek Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for leading new product development initiatives, developing novel applications, and mentoring fellow scientists.

• Research and Development: Lead and perform research on new and existing products, technologies, and processes. Develop, prototype, and test new products/materials using current analytical methods and instrumentation.
• Documentation and Reporting: Document experimental steps, procedures, and results. Write experience reports detailing experimental design, results, and conclusions. Communicate progress through monthly reports and staff meetings.
• Product Transfer and Support: Support the transfer of new products to manufacturing. Monitor product performance and validate processes, quality, documentation, and training.
• Publications and Presentations: Prepare articles and publishable data for marketing and technical services. Conduct seminars, advanced technical presentations, and support training activities.
• Collaboration and Continuous Learning: Collaborate cross-functionally as a scientific expert. Engage in continuous learning to stay current with industry advancements and enhance knowledge.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safe working procedures and environmental health and safety guidelines. Follow Restek's core values and practice safe handling of materials.

• Education: Minimally requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry or related science plus 10 years of experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive experience with sample preparation and LC-MSMS is preferred as well as a proven track record in product development and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Competent understanding of chromatography and core principles. Ability to interact with customers at a high level of expertise. Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of chemical safety, composition, structure, and properties.
