RWJBarnabas Health is in search of a committed Clinical Nurse for our Medical Surgical Unit. Our nursing professionals are essential in delivering exceptional care to a diverse patient population. This unit specializes in managing patients with neurological conditions, including but not limited to stroke, epilepsy, and spinal surgeries. Our nurses exhibit expertise, adaptability, resilience, and effective communication, working collaboratively within a team environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills

Preferred:

  • BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
  • At least 1 year of acute care RN experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift, 36 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • The Clinical Nurse delivers nursing care within the healthcare framework as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to ethical practice as per the ANA code of ethics.
  • The Clinical Nurse guarantees safety in practice and integrates evidence-based principles, maintaining awareness of personal knowledge and experience while fostering the development of self and team members through effective communication and resource utilization.
  • The Clinical Nurse is responsible for identifying and reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
  • The Clinical Nurse must possess knowledge of the patient demographics served.
  • The Clinical Nurse supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other healthcare providers.
  • The Clinical Nurse is responsible for establishing and assessing priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
  • The Clinical Nurse functions as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, employing the nursing process to integrate all facets of care and tailoring the care plan to meet specific patient needs.
