CEI Inspector

BCC Engineering is a leading ENR Top 500 Design Firm that offers integrated engineering services for both public and private sector clients. As a CEI Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.

• Monitor on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Perform field sampling and testing of component materials to verify their quality and integrity.
• Inspect materials and completed work to ensure they meet the required standards.
• Inspect traffic control devices and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of daily operations and significant events.
• Prepare inspection reports to document findings and recommendations.
• Participate in the development of job safety practices and observe general job safety practices.
• Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns.
• Assist Senior Inspectors in the performance of their duties and receive general supervision.
• Be available to work daytime, nighttime, and/or weekend shifts as required.
• Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports.
• Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals.

• High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or an Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering degree (requires certificate) having the ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within one year.
• Valid Drivers License and a clear driving record.
• Must have or be able to obtain within 12 months some or all of the following certifications, as determined by job assignments: TxDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Specialist Certification (Level 1A / Level 1B), ACI certification Strength, ACI Certification Grade 1, Materials Analyst Specialist Certification (SB101 / SB102), Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (QCIS).
• TxDOT Experience.
