Surgical Intensive Care Unit Nurse Job Description

**Job Summary:**

Nurse First is seeking a skilled Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) nurse to join our team for a travel nursing assignment in Virginia. As a SICU nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

**Responsibilities:**

* Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the SICU
* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
* Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' physical and emotional needs
* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
* Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition
* Educate patients and their families on disease management and self-care techniques

**Requirements:**

* Current RN licensure in the state of Virginia
* BSN degree from an accredited nursing program
* 1+ year of experience in SICU nursing
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
