We're seeking a skilled Gastroenterology Physician to join our team on a locum tenens basis. As a locum gastroenterologist, you'll have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics, and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.

About the Job

This is a temporary assignment, lasting 13 weeks, to address staffing shortages in hospitals and outpatient clinics. As a locum gastroenterologist, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of digestive system disorders in adults and potentially children. You'll conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop and implement treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat digestive system disorders in adults and potentially children
  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as endoscopies, X-rays, CT scans, and blood tests
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Manage chronic digestive conditions and provide ongoing patient care
  • Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, and other specialists as needed
  • Educate patients on digestive health and disease prevention
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Fellowship training in gastroenterology (may be preferred)
  • Board certification in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in New Mexico
