Job Summary

The Banyan at Montclair is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a COTA-Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and treatment programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure the quality of patient care and treatment programs by providing hands-on assessment, treatment, and direction to subordinate staff on matters of treatment.
  • Assist patients in preparing for therapy and return trips, including dressing and undressing, removing and putting on braces or supportive equipment, prostheses, crutches, etc.
  • Implement patient plans of care and goals using appropriate COTA skills.
  • Actively listen to patient and family concerns when modifying treatment plans.
  • Provide patient care during scheduled hours as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Educate and motivate patients and families to learn and improve functional activities.
  • Assure the quality of overall perceived patient care.
  • Document progress, home programs, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Clean and prepare equipment for therapy sessions.
  • Assist patients in tracking exercises.
  • Straighten and clean rooms.
  • Perform administrative duties.
  • Measure and track range of motion.
  • Record data progress during therapy sessions.
  • Confer with other staff members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment plans.
  • Maintain patient and family confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in continuing education activities and obtain required contact hours.
  • All job duties considered essential to job performance.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of Nebraska.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of the job.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
  • Physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, and lifting.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
