Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Barback to join our team at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. As a Barback, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bars and providing exceptional service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Bartenders: Provide support to our bartenders to ensure efficient service to our guests. This includes ensuring that the bartenders are adequately stocked with necessary supplies and maintaining a clean and organized bar area.
  • Maintain Bar Area: Ensure that all glasses, bowls, and other bar equipment are clean and stowed. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar, including the counter, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Restock and Replenish: Assist with restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies to ensure that we are always prepared to meet the needs of our guests.
  • Present a Professional Image: Present a neat and professional appearance in accordance with our uniform code.
  • Report Maintenance Issues: Report any maintenance issues to the Manager on Duty to ensure that our facilities are always in good working order.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to be on your feet for a minimum of 5 hours a shift and work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a busser, bar back, or server assistant.
  • Availability: Availability to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, ability to determine bartender's needs in advance, and basic knowledge of bar set up and vernacular.
