PrairieCare Psychiatric Nurse - Float Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at PrairieCare, a leading provider of mental health services in the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota. As a Psychiatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care in a psychiatric setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Perform various nursing interventions, including lab draws, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests as ordered by physicians.
  • Document patient information and communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota.
  • 1 year of experience in psychiatric nursing, with a focus on mental health and substance abuse treatment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
