Position Overview

Sign-On Bonus Available for Eligible New Clinic LPNs

CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason have merged to enhance patient-centered care throughout the Pacific Northwest. This collaboration ensures a cohesive healthcare system that provides quality services conveniently. Our patients can rely on us for everything from basic health needs to advanced, specialized care.

Key Responsibilities

The Franciscan Medical Group, part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is actively seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for our orthopedic clinic. We are looking for a committed LPN to support our mission of delivering outstanding care in a nurturing environment. With no night shifts, weekends, or recognized holidays, this role offers a balanced work-life schedule while allowing you to make a significant impact on patient lives.

Job Summary:

This position involves providing quality nursing care to clinic patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other healthcare provider, adhering to the LPN licensure scope and the Franciscan Medical Group's policies. Responsibilities include assisting healthcare providers during patient visits, executing routine nursing protocols, and offering clinical support to medical staff. The role also encompasses participating in patient care planning, performing diagnostic procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records.

The incumbent will work independently on recurring tasks within established care standards and will consult with an RN or provider for more complex situations.

Successful candidates will manage a demanding workload effectively and demonstrate excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Essential Duties:
  • Prepare patients for their appointments by obtaining and documenting vital signs and relevant health information, ensuring comfort and privacy during examinations.
  • Assist with patient care, diagnostic tests, and clinical procedures within the limits of training and licensure, following established protocols for routine situations.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing and assist with laboratory tests according to guidelines.
  • Administer medications as per provider orders and maintain accurate records of medication usage.
  • Document all procedures and patient interactions in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, including restocking supplies and sterilizing instruments.
  • Exhibit cultural sensitivity and competence in communication, understanding how patient demographics influence care delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Graduated from an accredited practical nursing program recognized by the Washington State Board of Nursing. Preferred: One year of clinic LPN experience or two years in acute care.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse license from the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • If assigned to a float pool, a valid driver's license is required.
