Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tribunal Judge to join our team. As a Tribunal Judge, you will be responsible for conducting canonical processes, instructing and deciding marriage cases, and writing judicial sentences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct canonical processes and instruct marriage cases in the First and Second Instances.
  • Write judicial sentences and decrees, as well as other necessary documents.
  • Prepare appeal cases and submit them to the appropriate Tribunal.
  • Provide canonical advice and counsel to parishes and faithful within the archdiocese.
  • Pursue ongoing formation in doctrine and jurisprudence.
  • Participate in regular Tribunal staff meetings, educational sessions, and events.
  • Resolve problems within the scope of authority and responsibility to ensure completeness and compliance with canonical norms.
Requirements
  • Licentiate in Canon Law (J.C.L) required.
  • A minimum of three years of Tribunal experience is required, particularly in substantive and procedural penal law.
  • Able to work with clients from multicultural backgrounds is required.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred.
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. The employee is regularly required to talk and listen, and frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.

This is a full-time 40-hour per-week position. All duties and responsibilities require in-office presence.
