Responsibilities
The Nurse is accountable for providing safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct patient care within the established scope of practice.
- Guiding and educating patients and their families, as well as overseeing the activities of other nursing staff while maintaining high standards of care.
- Responding promptly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses.
- Ensuring a safe environment for patients and visitors.
- Utilizing the chain of command when necessary to advocate for patient well-being and appropriate care for newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
- Must possess a current and valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State.
- BLS (AHA) Certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
- ACLS (AHA) Certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
- NRP (AHA) Certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
- Basic Fetal Monitoring Certification required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained.
