We are seeking a highly motivated and animal-loving individual to join our team as an Animal Care Specialist at PetSuites. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to our furry guests, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Care: Ensure that each guest is treated with respect and dignity, and that their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Food and Water Management: Ensure that all guests receive appropriate amounts of food and water, and that food and water bowls are cleaned and sanitized daily.
  • Facility Maintenance: Clean up dog waste, urine, and vomit throughout the shift, and maintain a sanitary and healthy environment by following our standards of cleaning and disinfecting rooms.
  • Playtime and Exercise: Engage in play activities with pets, including fetch, exercise walks, chase, agility, follow the leader, recall, and basic obedience games.
  • Conflict Resolution: Monitor for potential conflicts or escalations and redirect or remove one or more dogs from the situation as needed.
  • Documentation: Monitor guest's health by daily charting of eating and elimination habits, and document playtime interactions.
  • Safety and Security: Follow all standards of safety with regards to handling guests, particularly aggressive guests and escape artists.
  • Inventory Management: Alert manager when levels of inventory are low in pet foods, cleaning products, and other essential supplies.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure that the facility meets or exceeds our expectations with regards to cleanliness and safety, and that the property is maintained (lawn care, snow removal, tree maintenance).
Requirements
  • Animal Handling: Must be comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to customer needs and building trust with clients.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other departments and team members to achieve common goals.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, both written and orally, about their dog's care and needs.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail, particularly where documentation is concerned.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Reliability: Reliable, punctual, and dependable, with a strong work ethic.
