Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Cook to join our culinary team at the Good Samaritan Society. As a Senior Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to patients, residents, staff, and visitors. You will work in a dynamic and changing culinary environment, following standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines to ensure the safest food possible.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food according to prescribed patient/resident diets
  • Execute meal service based on menu and dietary requirements
  • Adhere to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation
  • Perform washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
  • Maintain labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
  • At least one year of previous cooking experience, with previous experience working with therapeutic diets preferred
  • Strong restaurant line cooking skills to ensure all foods are prepared on time and coordinated with the assembly of patient trays
