About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist I to join our team at Collins Aerospace Careers. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality machine parts using manual machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering plans to ensure accurate production of machine parts.
  • Perform manual turning, facing, treading, tapering, and boring operations using manual machines.
  • Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts into sub-units or complete units using operating mechanical equipment.
  • Take measurements of material using micrometers and vernier calipers and select appropriate machines for the process.
  • Conduct inspections of work produced and maintain quality/safety standards.
  • Check SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging, and measurements.
Requirements
  • High School diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Current or previous experience performing manual lathe operations.
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometers, tread gages, and vernier calipers.
  • Ability to hold tolerances +/-.001.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manual lathe and mills experience.
  • Experience working in aerospace or MRO facilities.
  • Current or prior experience machining exotic metals.
  • Machine Trade School a Plus.
