Job Summary

As a key member of the Magna International team, the Production Team Associate - Forklift Driver will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production lines by transporting and storing production parts in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Moves parts on the plant floor and in the shipping/receiving area using a forklift truck.
  • Supplies parts to assembly stations and sequencing lanes in a timely manner.
  • Loads and unloads parts from trucks.
  • Maintains stock in an organized fashion (FIFO).
  • Assists with monthly physical inventories and daily cycle counts.
  • Initiates, recommends, or provides solutions through appropriate channels; participates in Kaizen/MPS activities.
  • Works in a manner that promotes teamwork among fellow employees.
  • Completes all paperwork associated with the job assignment in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely, and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures.
  • Reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions or acts to management immediately.
  • Reports injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, and property damage immediately to your Supervisor.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Powered Industrial Truck Permit (requires a passing score on the Powered Industrial Truck training tests administered by Magna Seating Detroit).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team oriented, communicates well with others, and able to interact with people at all levels and departments.
  • Detailed oriented and good documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment (i.e. forklift truck).
