Research Scholar Position in Bioinorganic Chemistry

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. This is an ongoing recruitment, and the position is dependent on availability of extramural funding. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a project studying the biochemical and charge transport properties of cytochrome polymers.
This position requires a Ph.D. in a relevant field of biochemistry, structural biology, chemistry or engineering. The ideal applicant will have experience in protein purification and electrochemistry.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research, collaborating with the research team, and publishing their findings in leading scientific journals. They will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and expertise through training and professional development programs offered by the University.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field of biochemistry, structural biology, chemistry or engineering. They should also have experience in protein purification and electrochemistry, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills. The successful candidate will be appointed for a short-term period (2 years) and will be expected to make significant contributions to the research project during this time.
**Salary:** $60,000-$71,952
