CarepathRx is a leading provider of pharmacy services, transforming hospital pharmacies into revenue generators through innovative technology and market-leading services. We are seeking a skilled Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our team.

  • As an Insurance Verification Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the daily functions of the Insurance Verification area, including verification of insurance coverage, re-verifying coverage for existing patients, and securing reimbursement-related paperwork.
  • You will generate price/coverage quotes, work effectively to maintain expected productivity, and enter and update patient demographics into the computer system.
  • Additional responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage, calculating costs, and documenting details in the patient profile, as well as medical vs pharmacy benefit determination.
  • You will also generate financial responsibility letters, review benefits with patients via phone, identify copay/foundation assistance and/or donated drug, and track, monitor, and secure necessary insurance documents.
  • Other duties include obtaining prior authorizations as required, coordinating completion of Financial Assistance forms, payment agreements, and waivers, and assisting with training new employees.
  • You will organize and prioritize tasks to be completed, create new hospital and physician codes as needed, and give high priority to client satisfaction and customer needs.
  • Cooperation with other staff members is essential when planning and organizing reimbursement activities.
  • You will also demonstrate the ability to work effectively and maintain expected productivity, meet quality standards, show pride in performance, and demonstrate reliability and follow-through on all assigned tasks.
  • Additional responsibilities include assisting with researching reimbursement issues and performing in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required, and 2+ years of insurance verification, prior authorization, or other related experience in a physician practice, ancillary provider, or other relevant healthcare setting is necessary.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, payer websites, eligibility, coordination of benefits, pharmacy vs medical payers, and authorization is required.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office Products are necessary, as well as excellent math skills.
  • Ability to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 8am to 6:30pm is also required.
