The Academic Career Coach plays a pivotal role in empowering prospective students, guiding them through the recruitment process, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. This dedicated professional serves as the primary point of contact for students, providing individualized support to help them achieve their academic goals.

This dynamic coach must possess an unwavering commitment to student success, coupled with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a growth mindset approach that encourages resilience and determination.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, enroll, and onboard students, ensuring a smooth transition into the program.
  • Conduct data entry associated with enrollment, maintaining accurate records and tracking student progress.
  • Liaise with course instructors, funders, and externship sites to assess student progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted coaching strategies.
  • Implement and monitor education plans, tailoring support to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Support the Director with Externship Coordination, facilitating effective communication, document collection, and placement site management.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to students, responding to inquiries and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience working with individuals related to personal and professional goal setting.
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills, with a willingness to be part of a team.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Philadelphia's workforce needs, certification courses, and requirements for credentialing opportunities.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Able and willing to attend in-person classes, coaching sessions, events, as needed.

Base pay for this position ranges from $28.30 to $32.97, influenced by factors such as skills and experience. Base pay is one aspect of our Total Compensation package, which recognizes employees for their hard work and dedication.
