The Opportunity

\

We're looking for a skilled Data Infrastructure Architect to lead the development of our next-generation data platform. This platform will enable fast, cost-efficient data infrastructure at massive scale and empower the development of Nextdoor for the foreseeable future.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • \
  • You'll design, build, and own a highly scalable data platform that will help power Nextdoor's development.\
  • You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of the platform.\
  • You'll develop a roadmap for future development and continuously improve the platform to meet Nextdoor's evolving needs.\
  • You'll participate in in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team-building exercises.\
  • You'll build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to Nextdoor's KIND culture.\

Requirements

  • \
  • You'll have 7-10 years of demonstrated experience working on data infrastructure at petabyte scale.\
  • You'll have a deep understanding of data infrastructure, governance, compliance, and how enterprises use data.\
  • You'll be knowledgeable about SQL, Spark/pySpark, and other data processing tools.\
  • You'll have computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, performance complexity, and optimization.\
  • You'll have software engineering fundamentals: version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub) and workflows, and ability to write production-ready code.\
  • You'll be knowledgeable about data science and machine learning tools and frameworks.\
  • You'll have familiarity with experimentation methodologies, such as A/B testing, multivariate testing, and statistical analysis.\
  • You'll have experience deploying scalable software.\
  • You'll have experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred).\
  • You'll have strong oral and written communication skills.\
  • You'll be able to conduct meetings and make professional presentations, and explain complex concepts and technical material to non-technical users.\

Our compensation package includes a salary range of $230,000 to $290,000 per year, depending on your level of expertise. You'll also receive a meaningful equity grant with equal quarterly vesting, starting within the first three months of your employment. Additionally, we offer comprehensive benefits, including 100% coverage of your personal monthly premium for health, dental, and vision insurance, and a OneMedical membership for concierge care.
