Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team and patient/family to identify and address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
- Promote optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the nursing process in accordance with established care standards and guidelines.
- Demonstrate accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Circulate and/or scrub on all surgical cases.
- Primarily handle cases in General Surgery, Orthopedics (including Total Joint and Sports Medicine), Gynecology, Obstetrics (C-Sections), Urology, Podiatry, and Plastic Surgery.
- Provide care for all age groups, excluding neonates to two years.
- All associates are cross-trained for various services, with no dedicated urgent service line teams.
- Assist with room turnover and restocking for upcoming cases.
- Act as a patient advocate before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Facility Overview:
Our surgical department features four main operating rooms, a Urology suite, and a GI suite, with an average monthly case volume of approximately 450 to 500 patients. We specialize in a range of surgical services, ensuring a supportive environment for individuals to learn and grow within our surgical services team.
Qualifications:
In addition to embodying **humankindness** in the workplace, qualified nursing candidates should possess:
- An Associate's Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required for new graduates and preferred for experienced RNs.
Experience Requirements:
- One year of nursing experience is preferred.
- Specialized nursing skills and knowledge relevant to the specialty area.
Licenses/Certification Requirements:
- Current RN License required; valid state nursing licenses or an RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
Physical Requirements:
- Medium Work - Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly.
