AI Innovation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled AI Developer to join our team in the Chicagoland area.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have expertise in generative models, deep learning, and data analysis, with a strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, test, and deploy AI projects that drive innovation and provide value in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative AI solutions using generative models, deep learning, and data analysis
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, test, and deploy AI projects
  • Utilize Azure Cloud services such as Azure OpenAI, CosmosDB, Azure Search, Azure Functions, Key Vault, and Azure Storage
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Set up and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines (e.g., using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)
  • Manage containers in Azure, including using development containers in GitHub Codespaces
  • Manage security for Azure AD, handle authentication and authorization, and manage secrets via Key Vault
Requirements
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid work authorization that does not currently and/or will not require future sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the US
  • Azure Cloud expertise, including Azure OpenAI, CosmosDB, Azure Search, Azure Functions, Key Vault, and Azure Storage
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Ability to set up and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines (e.g., using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)
  • Experience in managing containers in Azure, including using development containers in GitHub Codespaces
  • Strong security skills, including managing security for Azure AD, handling authentication and authorization, and managing secrets via Key Vault
  • Python backend development skills, including API development and integration with Azure services
  • Experience in building applications that use RAG to retrieve information and augment responses using models such as GPT and embedding models
  • Strong data processing pipeline skills, including creating and managing document processing pipelines for language translation, embedding text chunks, etc.
  • Experience in database management, including knowledge of Azure CosmosDB for document storage and hybrid search indexes
  • Strong frontend development skills, including React and Typescript development, modern front-end frameworks, and front-end optimization
  • Experience in web integration with backend APIs, including ensuring smooth communication between the Python-based backend APIs and the Typescript frontend
  • Strong web security skills, including OAuth, JWT, authentication mechanisms using Azure AD
  • Expertise in handling data for AI models, including managing and processing data for use with AI models, including managing large text datasets, embeddings, and hybrid indexing
  • Experience in LLM integration and fine-tuning, including fine-tuning or configuring models like GPT for specific tasks within the Azure ecosystem
