About the Role

This position is accountable for ensuring all OEM packaging specs are quoted, implemented, and covered in plant operating instructions. They will implement a returnable container program with suppliers and ensure all suppliers are compliant with packaging requirements.

This role will also support material flow process improvements and provide technical support in the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes to facilitate effective and efficient movement of material.

Responsibilities
  • Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
  • Follows and supports Magna's operating principles.
  • Lead packaging quote activities.
  • Maintain and improve plant PFEP.
  • Work with VSM lead to improve process flow activities.
  • Facilitate the implementation of change processes and streamline current practices to improve efficiency and capability.
  • Responsible for investigating and recommending suppliers for returnable packaging program based on cost.
  • Responsible for improving all supplier packaging.
Requirements
  • Completion of a post-secondary education in a related field or 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment handling packaging designs.
  • Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Operate standard office equipment preferred.
