Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CVOR Technologist to support our cardiovascular surgical team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care during open heart surgeries and related procedures.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS and CST Verification are mandatory.
  • ND UAP certification is required.
Job Details
  • Specialty: CVOR Tech 6210
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours: 32 hours/week, with a schedule of 40 hours/week, consisting of 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday for open heart cases.
  • On-call Requirements: Approximately 3-4 times per week and every other to every third weekend.
  • First to float: Flexibility is required.
Job Requirements
  • Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Verification is essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in CVOR, with expertise in open heart surgeries, CABG, and valve procedures.
  • Skills: Ability to first scrub and willingness to cross-train into general OR if CV volumes are low.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Must be willing to float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter and work during holidays.
Schedule Information
  • Shifts: Monday to Friday, starting at 6 AM for Open Heart Case Preparation.
  • Call Requirements: Weeknight call 3-4 times per week and weekend call every other to every third weekend.
  • Holiday Requirements: Rotating holidays with a call response time of 15 minutes.
  • Post-call Shifts: 8-hour reprieve shifts available.
  • Facilities: Sleep room is provided.
Unit Specific Information
  • Number of Suites: 2 CVOR suites.
  • Average Cases: 1-3 cases per day.
  • Common Procedures: Open hearts (CABG, Valve, aneurysms), thoracotomies, VATS, Convergent, AAA, carotids, ION robotic cases, ECMO, Impella 5.5, Stryker towers.
  • Manager Availability: Charge Nurse present for all shifts from 7 AM to 11 PM on weekdays and 7 AM to 7 PM on weekends.
Additional Details
  • Certifications Required: BLS, CST or NCCT, ND UAP.
  • Floating Requirements: Must be willing to cross-train to other OR specialties if CV volumes are low.
  • Uniform Policy: Scrubs will be provided.
  • Work Environment: The department fosters a family atmosphere.
  • Radius Rule: Candidates must reside within 50 miles and cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization.
  • RTO Policy: Requests for time off must be submitted upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract). Additional requests will not be approved.
