Position Overview:
Talascend is in search of a Senior Process Engineering Lead specializing in Hydroprocessing, Aromatics, and Polymers. This role is pivotal in driving high-priority projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in leading initiatives within a large EPC firm, with a focus on FEED and EPC execution in the refining sector.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Process Engineering Lead, you will:

  • Oversee a team of process engineers collaborating with licensors to enhance basic engineering packages to FEED standards.
  • Execute licensor packages for refinery hydrotreating technologies, including naphtha, distillate, and residue.
  • Manage projects related to downstream steam cracker derivatives, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, and aromatics.
  • Coordinate with high-value engineering centers to ensure project success.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with a typical range of 10-30 years.
  • Proficiency in developing heat and material balances using process simulation software like Aspen HYSYS.
  • Experience in creating process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Expertise in fluid hydraulic calculations for line sizing and formulating process data for in-line instruments and rotating equipment.

Skills Required:
To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Leadership capabilities in managing engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with process simulation, PFD and P&ID development, and hydraulics calculations.
  • Experience in process vessel sizing and overpressure analysis, including flare load estimation.
  • Ability to produce comprehensive process design basis documents and narratives.
  • Competence in managing workgroup schedules, budgets, and progress tracking.
