Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Responsibilities
- Assists residents with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support.
- Provides assistance with meals and snacks, and creates a positive dining experience for residents.
- Assists with procedures, such as transferring, repositioning, and walking, using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
- Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicates resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
Requirements
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
