We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and sterile environment, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Assist in preparing the operating room, setting up equipment, and ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
- Surgical Instrument Management: Handle, monitor, and process sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures.
- Anticipatory Care: Understand procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon to ensure seamless execution.
- Post-Operative Care: Assist in cleaning and preparing instruments for terminal sterilization, and maintain accurate records of sterilization procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect instruments and equipment for signs of damage and wear, and perform routine maintenance tasks as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited education program for surgical technologists, or completion of a military surgical technology program.
- Certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization, or current NYS LPN license.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Clinical Experience: Previous experience in a surgical setting, preferably in a hospital or medical facility.
