Job Summary

Arcadis is seeking a skilled Signal Systems Specialist to join our team in Chicago. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of signaling systems for transit projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Testing: Verify that track and signal systems' installations and modifications are performed in accordance with plans and/or specifications.
  • Inspections and Testing: Perform all necessary track/signal inspections and test verification and witnessing.
  • Project Management: Oversee the performance of signal contractors performing installation of new signal systems and modifications to the existing signal system.
  • Quality Control: Review of signal activities in contractor's monthly pay application.
  • Reporting: Support the development of monthly progress reports and prepare daily inspection reports for the work performed in the field.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in the installation, testing, and commissioning of signaling systems within the transit industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Key Skills and Abilities
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of signaling equipment, control systems, and communication protocols. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Proficiency in the use of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong verbal and written communication skills.
