Albany Medical Center is a leading tertiary care hospital with a Level 1 trauma center, housing 96 adult ICU beds, primarily dedicated to surgical services, including trauma, advanced general surgery, complex urologic, neurosurgery, high-risk spine, and complex cardiac surgery, as well as mechanical circulatory support services (MCS).
The Department of Critical Care has clinical service lines divided between Surgical, Neurosurgical, and Cardiopulmonary Surgical Intensive Care. These units are supported by nurse practitioners, residents, trauma surgical critical care, and cardiac anesthesia fellows.
As a critical care specialist, you will be part of a team that provides patient care in our operative and procedural locations using the anesthesia care team model, didactic and clinical instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists. Participation in clinical and educational research is encouraged.
Our team manages over 45,000 anesthetics annually across all major specialties in the main operating rooms, NORA locations, and various ASC and office-based settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care in our operative and procedural locations
- Participate in didactic and clinical instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists
- Participate in clinical and educational research
