Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting products from our warehouse to customer locations across the country.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a tractor-trailer unit to transport products to customer locations, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to company standards.
  • Load and unload products according to customer specifications, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including electronic logs, inspections, and vehicle maintenance reports, in accordance with company and governmental guidelines.
  • Ensure all food safety protocols are met, maintaining proper temperatures in the delivery vehicle and adhering to established guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with customers through excellent service and clear communication.
  • Communicate with management regarding any deviations to route, trailer, or loading issues, as well as customer or product concerns.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and ability to be insurable to operate a vehicle.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting and delivery practices.
  • Ability to drive a tractor-trailer unit in various traffic and weather conditions, remaining alert and aware of surroundings.
Work Environment

The work environment for this role will involve occasional exposure to wet, hot, extreme cold, and/or humid conditions, as well as moving mechanical parts and confined spaces. The associate will typically work an overnight schedule, including weekends, holidays, overtime, on-call, and starting at various times to meet customer needs.
