Lead Data Scientist
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist Lead to join our product team at Snap Inc.
This position requires expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to deliver impactful, objective, and actionable data insights that enable informed business and product decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Applying advanced data analysis techniques to drive informed and timely decision-making
- Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and designers to identify new opportunities within Snap's long-term roadmap for data-scientific contributions
- Developing pragmatic, scalable, and statistically thorough solutions to deliver actionable insights, accurate predictions, and effective optimizations
- Communicating best practices in quantitative analysis and developing cross-functional partnerships
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Expertise in using data modeling skills to identify key product trends and new product opportunities
- A strong understanding of Snapchat and great product sense
- The ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
- Excellent communication skills to convey sophisticated quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
Preferred qualifications include:
- Advanced degree in applied mathematics, statistics, or related field
- Experience working in a product-focused role at a social media and/or mobile technology company
- Familiarity with machine learning and statistical analysis for building data-driven product solutions or performing methodological research
Salary: $156,000 - $276,000 annually based on location (Zone A: CA, WA, NYC; Zone B; Zone C)
